Skellig Michael was used as the filming location for the planet Ahch-To in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. The ancient stone beehive huts (clochán) built by 6th-century monks doubled as the Jedi Temple. The island's isolated, other-worldly appearance made it the perfect stand-in for the edge of the galaxy.
The Ring of Skellig is a scenic coastal loop on the tip of the Iveragh Peninsula that offers some of the best mainland views of the Skellig islands.
